Friday Remixes (Miracle Fortress, Dirtyloud, & More)

The cornucopia of undiscovered musical bounty that is SoundCloud (which we still have to search using Google Advanced Search) has yielded a rich end-of-the-week harvest! Behold:
Gotta start with Dirtyloud’s remix of Snow Patrol’s “Called Out In The Dark.” My favorite part is at 1:30, when the bass just hits it right on.

Dirtyloud’s take on Afrojack’s “Selecta” is not labeled as dubstep, but it should be. Mostly synth and dub laden brilliance; some excessive parts. But judging from the comments section, we may be the only ones that feel that way.

This hip-hop selection, Urban Noize’s remix of Common & Duffy’s “Chi-City,” is aggressive and catchy. Love the background – could have used some more variance midway through – it’s a bit homogenous.

Here’s a blast from the past – Ill-esha’s remix of Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine.” For my part, it’s got a hint of J.Lo’s “Love Don’t Cost A Thing.”

Rakas’s remix of Goapele and Los Rakas’s track “Play,” has a nice reggae undercurrent added to its electronic Latin R&B foundation.

The appropriate song to end with is PatrickReza’s dubstep remix of Lana Del Rey’s song “Blue Jeans.” Big up to The Music Ninja for turning us on to this one.
