Friday

It’s Friday. I’m in a good mood. If you want to be academic about it, these tracks represent the current and expected trajectory of my day, from relaxed, dreamy optimism to ass-shakery. If you want to be blunt, they’re simply solid, recently released tracks to put you in a positive, slightly rowdy state of mind.
Heidelberg, Germany based “emotional electronica” band Essáy & Stumbleine put out a good ambient song, “Rhiannon:” an appropriate place to start.

Disco Tech’s edit of the classic Pink Floyd track, “The Wall” has a killer intro – a synthesis of parts 1-3 from the original album, with a great edit of the guitar solo in particular.

Wick-It’s song “Gleemonex” starts off on a groove, then gets progressively more excited. It even throws in some palatable dubstep (yes, one must differentiate) in its grotesque middle section. Well-balanced and just off-kilter enough to pique my interest.

Rough Draft’s bootleg of Jurassic 5′s track “What’s Golden” is just about as dubsteppy as I can stand, but it works me into a fever rather than a nervous sweat, as other similarly over-bassed tracks would do.

Chrizzo & Maxim’s bootleg of “We’re All Lionhearts” – a combination of Hook N Sling’s remix of Nervo’s “We’re All No One” and Afrojack’s newest single “Lionheart” gets the dance feeling going.

It’s never a bad idea to throw in some Kap Slap. I’ll give you one guess as to which song the backbone of “All Of The Nights” takes off of.
