Shlohmo – “wen uuu”
Guest post by Arson Welles
If you read my FAVORITE ALBUMS OF 2010 list, then you know that I have a huge soft spot for LA beatmaker Shlohmo: his full-length debut, Bad Vibes, is unquestionably one of the best (and most slept-on) records of 2011, full of subtle, percussive field recordings and delirious synthesizers. This week he announced a new EP, Vacation, with a release date in early February, and also shared that EP’s first single, the muted, melancholy tick-tock of “wen uuu.” If this is the direction Vacation is going to take (i.e., “a very agitated Burial playing an 808 in a subway tunnel”), count me in.
