2:54 – “Creeping”
If you like your rock bands dark and shadowy, then 2:54 are two gals you’ll want to get to know. Listen to the band’s single “Creeping,” and you might be able to guess that sisters Hannah and Colette Thurlow hail from the UK, a place where the gray, industrial sounds of the early 1980s once reigned supreme. Maybe they will once more, if all of 2:54’s stuff is as good as “Creeping.” A little shoegaze, a little garage rock, the duo expertly blend influence from The xx and Queens of the Stone Age, bringing the doom but making it undeniably pretty.
