This song might just be the closest thing I’ve heard to the grandioseness of Loveless. The guitars sound huge and clipped, relentlessly droning over a barely audible drum machine while pretty synths dance around in the mess of reverb. When the vocals make their way into the mix, it is an understated triumph—the pride one feels when they’ve resisted temptation (“I won’t…”). Though this pride is proved to be nothing more than complacency—functioning not as a credit to one’s will power but rather a slight to one’s capablities (“I can’t”). This is the 3rd track on some other place by Australian-based Kigo.
